Bridging gaps that matter: Research findings of opioid equity and palliative care research among minority ethnic populations in the UK
Online session held on Microsoft Teams
Abstract
This presentation highlights findings from a recent NIHR-funded UK-wide study on opioid prescribing for end-of-life cancer pain across ethnic groups. The results reveal significant disparities demanding urgent attention. Current research approaches have limitations, necessitating a new framework. Professor Koffman will discuss how to develop more effective research questions, methods, and teams to address the needs of minority ethnic populations and share principles from a recent MRC-funded Delphi study that offers promising strategies to reduce these critical inequities.
